“Shaping Lives is the identity of Le Passage Travel Foundation, a pioneering and dedicated CSR initiative of Le Passage to India (LPTI), India’s premium Destination Management Company. The Foundation was conceptualised by Mr Arjun Sharma, the then Managing Director, and current Chairman, of LPTI, as a pioneering effort to add dedicated soul to tour itineraries of inbound clients. Colonel (Retired) Anil Alagh raised the Foundation on the MD’s vision in July 2010. The other Trustees of this Foundation were Mr Manish Goel, Mr Randhir Brar and Mr Suresh Mittal. Since inception, Shaping Lives was mandated to act as a ‘bridge’ between the socially inclined inbound traveller and the Foundation’s empanelled grass root level NGOs, located around tourist destinations across India. The NGO spectrum covers humanity, animals and the environment and endeavours to customise interactions to suit client itineraries and needs.
The Shaping Lives logo manifests around a tree with its trunk refined into a pencil tip. This configuration signifies the core values of sturdy, unwavering strength and uprightness for which our company stands and a will of the Foundation to re-write ‘smiling futures’. The branches depicted by figurines, symbolise our business units and colleagues, as the integral supportive element across India. The hands depicting leaves, represent our travel partners and empanelled NGOs who are ever willing to participate in our social decisions and implementations

Being designated to facilitate ‘soul satisfying’ experiences for the socially inclined inbound tourists across tourism destinations in India, Shaping Lives commenced operations with 8 grass root level NGOs in the Golden Triangle in Dec 2010. Today it has over 35 affiliated NGOs across India, covering every field of humanity, animals and the environment.
Shaping Lives has a three-dimensional role.
Client Role: It facilitates ‘soulful’ encounters for inbound clients/groups in NGOs. Multiple choices of destination and NGO to be visited are offered by Shaping Lives to the client via the operations team and our travel partners across the world. It facilitates the visits or volunteering thereafter as part of the travel itinerary. The visits can range from short morning or afternoon visits to long term volunteering. Shaping Lives has facilitated painting of numerous centres and schools, building play grounds for street children, friendly sports encounters with NGOs, medical camps in rural zones, meetings and interactions with environmental specialists, fun outings for differently abled and marginalized children, festival celebrations with old and destitute and much more, to the mutual satisfaction of clients and NGOs. The donations by clients, in terms of time, resource and advocacy, directly benefit the NGO and many clients have formed long term relationships after their visits. Corporate Social Responsibility: The Foundation is directly responsible for ensuring mandatory compliances of CSR as laid down by the government for eligible companies. It effectively runs an informal schooling program for 160 children of waste pickers of Nizamuddin, Delhi, as its key CSR program. Besides this initiative, Shaping Lives actively supports many more NGOs and causes within its budgetary limits. It is answerable to the Board of Directors for its functioning and compliances.
Individual Social Responsibility: This is the third dimension and covers the engagement of colleagues across India in CSR activity and the motivation and impetus for individual ‘giving and soul building’. In the past 5 years it has successfully facilitated donation of over 700 units of blood, encouraged awareness and commitment to eye, organ and body donation, individual donations to needy and poor via funds, food, clothing, medical operations, etc.
